Re.: Punching shear - spreadsheet

Sorry, but I just could not download the attached file, which is shown as a .rar file and not as an .xls file.

I could be of help if I could download the file.

Dear Zaheer,

The calculations dome by you are ok. I can hardly improve upon them. Similar calculations done by me were about 7 years ago, in accordance with ACI 1985 as explained in Mark Fintel's handbook.

Incidentally, the flat slab panels in my building measured 6.15*6.15 m., with the column capitals 2.05*2.05 m. The slab thickness was 150 mm, the drop had an extra thickness of 150 mm; the grade of concrete was M20. No shear reinforcement was necessary.

Dear Indrajit sir,

Many thanks for your feedback.
I'm trying to develop another spreadsheet which includes shear reinforcement calculations. Insha Allah i will upload it soon.

I request experts to upload or send a model of either staad or Etabs for comparison done on static and dynamic analysis for earthquake loads.
I have a confusion pertain to scaling factor for reponse spectra if the base shear from dynamin analysis is more or less than static base shear. How to incorporate this scale factor in modeling using Staad and Etabs.

Regards,
Zaheer

Dear Sir,

I Found some small mistakes in your Excel Site.

In the calculation of Y-axis, you have not done a calculation of ay properly instead of taken column depth (c2) you have taken column breath (c1).

Thank You.
