Let's say we have a coated rebar (assume galvanised) that we field bend and perhaps even weld on site.
Does this kind of working on the rebar (post coating) not rupture the protective layer exposing the steel to attack. And if this exposure was non-uniform thru the length of the bar would it not cause a start of a galvanic current to start (due to uneven PH along the length). If so, have we done more harm than good by coating the rebar.
