Respected faculties/structural engineers,
I am an M Tech student studying in Tamil Nadu. My field is geotechnical engineering. As part of my thesis I need to create a foundation selection chart in which each type of foundation is differentiated in terms of type of soil, sbc, type of structure (no of floors) etc.
The foundation types I am considering are isolated footing, spread footing, pile, raft, combined footing and caisson foundation.
Since I have no practical knowledge, I request the the sef engineers to please share with me your knowledge about tips. Atleast give me some tips about each foundation selection.

Sir,

Dear sefians,
Based on the guidance i got from here and also by referring some books, i have created a table for foundation selection. Please note that this is to create a software for my project. I request anyone to please go through the attached file and say if there is any fundamental mistakes. Also please share your knowledge and tips to make it better.
