Respected faculties/structural engineers,
I am a M tech Structural Engineering student. I am doing a thesis on replacement of fine aggregate by shredded thermocol. Can anybody suggest me how to find the specific gravity of shredded thermocol.

You cut a piece of thermocol and weigh it. Then find its volume by immersing in a container with full of water and then measuring the volume of water overflown. Find the solid density of thermocol = weight / volume. Divide this with the density of water in the same units. This gives you the sp.gravity of the material. I hope you are not referring to the bulk density of the shredded thermocol.
