|
|
Dear Sir's
In which way slab (Membrane) will transfer the load to the beams in two-way spanning slab in Etabs software.
As per my knowledge slab will distribute load intensity as WLx/2 on to the short span as a triangle pattern and same intensity on to the long span as trapezoidal pattern.
Ex: Slab span (5 X 7 ) and load =10 Kn/m2 .
Distribution will be:
Short span (Triangular Pattern) = 10*5/2 =25 Kn/m
Long span ( Trapezoidal Pattern) = 10*5/2 = 25 Kn/m
Correct me if I am wrong.
My request is can any give the Indian code reference for above calculation adopted by Etabs software. |

Dear Engineer
Yes the ordinates for Triangular and Trapezoidal loads to be given are correct
However if you want to calculate equivalent UDL kindly refer the book
Design of Reinforced concrete Structures By Dr N Subramanian Sir
Moreover , This has been discussed earlier here , you can read in below given link

Hope is this what you are looking for |

Reference for this is available in SP 24 : EXPLANATORY HANDBOOK ON INDIAN STANDARD CODE OF PRACTICE FOR PLAIN AND REINFORCED CONCRETE |
