Hello! I face this problem very often. Many people constructing their homes generally leave column rebars in open for purpose of future construction. These column rebars over a period of time corrode due to atmospheric conditions. In such a case, what is the best remedy to overcome this problem?

Er. Pallavi,

You are right. The solutions for this problem  are

1. Rebars shall be covered with cement slurry and maintain this  coating  from damage.

2. Concrete casting  is best solution, it will also help to resist moment at beam column joint.

Best Wishes,

Use RUSTICIDE Rust Remover and Passivator & follow instruction by manufacturer to remove rust from rebars

RUSTICIDE is a single component sulphate and chloride free liquid, which in one operation removes rust and prevents further rusting of steel.

APPLICATIONS Removes rust and prevents further rusting of

New/ old reinforcement steel in new construction.
Embedded steel in repairable structures.
Various steel structures like tanks, water pipelines, effluent pipelines, trusses, purlins, rafters and other structural members.

ADVANTAGES

RUSTICIDE performs rust removal and rust prevention in one operation in mild conditions.
