Dear All,
As you may have heard, the Indian Concrete Journal is scheduled to close operations and its last issue will be that of November 2018.
The Journal has been in print since 1927 and is perhaps India's only indexed journal of 90 years standing. We would like to know how you feel about this:
a) I'm glad its closing down
b) I don't really care either way
c) This is sad but there's nothing that can be done.
d) ICJ is the most important concrete journal of India and something must be done to ensure its continuance

Depending on the responses a way forward may be planned.

Can we not give a qualitative response for justification and also can we not know why it is being closed down?

Anal Sheth

why not to review, effective senior engineer members, may be retired person but keen to work and be in the field take care and get involved to be an oxygen to the proposed plans of closing the ICJ.
As such, I wish I could do something. I am in Ahmedabad FYI.
Best Regards

I am not to sure whose idea is this, but unquestionably one of the most outrageous decision I have come across in my entire professional career. Has ACC gone so bankrupt( despite having such a massive market) that they do away with such an excellent journal which possibly remain the only forum where structural engineers in India can communicate their findings? Or
as usual the baniya mentality is taking precedence where kitna bhau haye? over rides everything?
If ACC require financial assistance to run it why not ask for assistance, am sure there will be donations galore. Like infanticide this is sheer journanticide and would be a shame if finally do happen.

Someone or organization should understake the responsibility of continue running the ICJ as this is dedicated journal which is providing experimental knowledge to all civil and structural engineers and it serving as CEE.

to icj
Dear Ashish Patil,
Greetings from EON Designers, Secunderabad.
Shocked to read your trailing mail that ICJ is being closed from Noverber 2018. I donot know what has prompted and under what circumstances decision to close ICJ is taken It pains my heart to see that such a great Journal of Concrete is being closed. I wish the management could again relook in this very sad and unfortunate decision..!!
with warm regards...
