Dear SEFIians,


I have doubt in calculating wind load on pitched roofs of buildings, Kindly clarify my doubt.


As per Table 5 of IS 875 part-3, For wind in 90 degrees direction, Cpe coefficients are given for EG & FH regions. EG region corresponds to L/4 length of building and FH region to another L/4 length. What about another L/2 length of the building on lee ward side ?  What force we should consider for another L/2 length of building in leeward side? or We need not take an wind load for this region.

In this case, you consider the wind is blowing in the reverse direction at θ = -900,ie, from bottom to top on plan. Then you can make use of the same Cpe coefficients as for  EF & GH, for the bottom 2 segments each of L/4 length, in a mirror image fashion.
