[quote="abhio"]Respected Er. Rao Sir,
with diagrids you have only 2 beams  with  28 length.
  but immediately  shorter beams support them.

Respected Er. Rao Sir,

I am not clear about how diagonal beams would have a smaller span than perpendicular ones. The maximum span of beam would be 20*sqrt(2) = 28.3m.

Regards,

With restrictions on dimensions of ribs and spacing as per IS 456 , the grids which are orthagonal can be simply treated as a slab panel and maximum BM's multiplied with rib spacing is the BM for central ribs.

With diagonal - grids , such simplified analysis may not work , and it needs to be analysed through softwares  OR lengthy equations .

It will be interesting to model the panel with orthogrids in one model and in separate other model as diagonal grids and with Loading on panel , deflection needs to be seen for both models.

Some Er on staad can do this exercise to enlighten the outcome on deflections.
Just feel that deflection at mid point of panel same in case panel is square panel but staad results may reveal reality.
