Greetings from IIT Madras!
The Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Madras has always been a key contributor to academics, research and innovation, particularly in the field of Structural Engineering. With recent advances in materials, technology and industrial revolution 4.0, it is important for Structural Engineering to upgrade itself to solve the challenges of the modern world.
The Structural Engineering Division of IIT Madras is organizing a two-day symposium titled "Structural Engineering: The Way Forward", on 9th and 10th of February, 2023 at IIT Madras. The symposium will focus on future trends in five thrust areas - Education, Research, Practice, Policy and Collaboration, in the context of Structural Engineering.
We also intend to utilise this opportunity to honour and celebrate the contributions of Prof. Devdas Menon, who will be superannuating in April, 2023.
The symposium aims to provide a platform for researchers, students, faculty members and practicing engineers, with a background in Civil Engineering, to learn and explore the latest developments in Structural Engineering. The details of the invited speakers and the link for registration can be found in the brochure attached. The last date for registration is 15th January, 2023.
