Dear SEFIANS,
Sir, I am encountering an issue with the column footing design because the bore well is located very close to the RCC column at a distance of 0.45 meters. Is there any procedure to abide by? _________________ K ASHWATH |

Bore well near column,,
If possible shift the location.
Footing pressure bulb extends to about 3B ,, though majority pressure contours upto 2B ,
Bore well shall be deep enough so that soil beneath 3B zone is not disturbed. Also draw of water need be from lower aquifers with no perforations in pipes upto 5B to 6B Or even deeper. Any movement of soil particles weaken the underneath strata, but deep tube wells are provided, even in buildings for ground water,
The immediate problem may not be there, but with passa g e of time,, it can affect,, if water is drawn not from deep aquifer.
Just a view point, but discuss with yr proof checker first, for this. |
