As per IS 1893-2023 draft -
The base shear force equation is found to be revised

In 2016 Code , Maximum Considered Earthquake (MCE) and Design Basis Earthquake (DBE) . Zone factor Z represents MCE and the Design Basis Earthquake is taken as 50% of MCE ie , Z/2 but as per draft Z/2 in the  current code is revised to Z




that is AHD =Z I A_NH(T)/R
Where A_NH(T) is the  Sa/g in current code.

Why is there such a drastic change from z/2 to Z in the new draft
