Dear Er,,

All formulas are important and  can not distinguish.

Now a days softwares contain all formulas. Even  choice of Country Code is also available.
Structural design working is totally software oriented .

But there is need to study books / codes for understanding of the subject. Software modelling also needs to be understood in light of GIGO.

Yes,  in Manual Designs era (extinct) ,, Designs were written by hand considering all aspects .

Ladder to success is :-
Prevailing working with software s  being performed in design office gives SE good practice in computerized software s working
But simultaneously
Develop yr own Axle work sheets on designs ,,  to help  to match results of software output with manual ines on Axel .

Many a times due to fault in understanding of str behaviour resuls do not match. If these are abnormally different, need to focus on study. Of str behaviour. This practice leads to perfection.

Most formulas used :- All Engineets know them
Slabs design - Coefficient s given in IS 456
Beams design - Charts given in DP 16
Columns design for Axial load and min eccentricity only
Pu = 0.4FckBD + 0.67 Fy Ast  given in IS 456

For columns with moments, refer charts in 456

Formulas for slenderness eccentricity  as per IS 456

Some engineers on sefi developed column charts in axel
And even beam tables can be developed using Sinly reinforced and doubly reinforced can be developed.

You can also refer SP 24  of BIS

Beam shear reinf formulas can developed

FORMULAS FOR STRESS AND STRAINS BY YOUNG

ALSO REFER BOOK BY OUR RESPECTED SIR  ON SEFI
LIMIT STAGE DESIGN OF REINFORCED STRUCTURES BY UH VARYANI AND RADHA JI

FOR WATER TANKS REFER IS 3370 PART 1,2 &4

FOR FOLDED PLATES REFER BOOK BY SIR UH VARYANI SAHEB
