In a RC T beam slab bridge, it is found that, a T beam is honeycombed and of lower strength. How can its strength be increased ?

Rcc T beam of a Bridge deck having honey combed concrete -
It is disheartening to note that no attention is given to the QUALITY ASPECT, during construction of bridge deck.
A STICH IN TIME SAVES NINE.
Any after treatments, may not provide the strength, which is achieved during Quality concreting work.
Some remedial measures :-
Grouting / Guniting of cement into honeycombs ,, affected areas , using epoxy based cement slurry
One Month After grouting operations, , Load Testing , of bridge be carried out as per IRC,
Use of Additional steel girders supplementing Rcc beams be also provided, to compensate for loss of strength.
WE CAN ALSO REQUEST OUR RESPECTED SURAJ SINGH JI SAHEB, TO DELIBERATE ON THIS ISSUE, AS HIS EXPERIENCE ON QUALITY ASSURANCE / REMEDIAL MEASURES IS UN- PARALLEL. |
