Hello Sefians,

For my problem I have to carry out multi-support excitation for a simple frame in SAP2000.
For this I tried to seek help from internet but couldn't get appropriate help.
My queries are..
1) when we define load pattern for each support displacement, what load type shall we select????
2) How to provide support condition, Suppose I am taking single bay single storey frame with fixed support, if I am applying earthquake excitation in X-direction?

Please illustrate the steps, I'll be highly obliged to you.
THANK YOU,

With regards,
Ankit G.

Ankit

Please refer the books of Dynamics of structures by Anil K chopra / by Clough Penzien (etc.) and find out how to form 'influence matrix'.This matrix corelates the structural displacement with ground/support displacement based on the DOF you are going to consider. Use this influence matrix to modify the input ( acceleration / displacment) which is used in analysis.
