Dear SEEFIANS

As part of my Mtech thesis i need to model an elliptical dome in SAP 2000.Since there are no templates available for elliptical dome.i have to model it in autocad and extrude in sap.

As a start i modeled a spherical dome using the templates available in SAP 2000.
In order to cross check i modeled the curve of  same dome in autocad and imported it to sap.But the natural frequency obtained were very different.

So i modeled the same dome using grid lines in sap, and the results were same as that obatined using autocad and not as obtained from SAP template for spherical domes.

Please help me find my mistake.

The radius of spherical dome-6.85m
Roll Down Angle-90
Thickness-20cm

Dear Mr Robinson

You can not ask such checking to be done by consulting engineers. You need to ask your guide, who us paid to do this job.
