Economy Slumped-Engineers Employment?
I am afraid that due to slumped economy, future years shall offer bad time for Civil engineers
Economy was on margin of revival, while suddenly, it slumped & created cash crunch
Nationally, all lower & middle level sectors responsible for adding to GDP have crushed adversely to a level of 50 % to 75%, which exclusively remained relying on cash flow
Most effected of these being construction, which counts to a vale of 70% of working economy
Erection state of Buildings have dropped & shall continue for long, since it is not a priority item on public requirement at present
Promoters shall not be happy to do business just making 10% profits, simultaneously risking for deliveries & honouring warranties
Construction revival shall take lot time, which would not be a good consideration for Civil & other involved engineers
It shall also, be difficult to pay to construction workers & contractors rates per day according to minimum wages & also, digesting GST related cost
Owners would not have capacity to afford high cost for taxes & enhanced material cost
Well for time being, materials cost may drop due to loss on demands & surplus supplies available, as happened on item of vegetables
Civil Engineers have to remain digestive of such bad times for coming months/years
In particular, practicing engineers shall certainly be impacted
Let us hope for best
