yes it is efective.
however it should be embedded in concrete.
no need of bearing plaster otherwise also bearing plaster
is of little use

Brick masonry with corner steel.

It is common concept to plaster the top of walls so that slab may easy contact or expand. It means slab is placed free over the wall without any bond with walls.

Now if we provide corner steel with plinth and lintel level bands, should this steel be embedded in slab?. If yes then is there any need for bearing plaster in case of  multistory buildings is this coroner steel is effective as an earthquake resistant construction.

Hello Mr. Sidhu

If we don't provide plaster at the top of walls for resting RCC slab;
concrete will
adhere to bricks and as the slab bends bricks may detach from bottom as
these
have strong bond with concrete at the top rather than little mortar at the
bottom.

Are you talking about horizontal reinforcement provided in the band or
vertical reinforcement provided in the joints of the walls.
