Dear All,

We the structural engineers are supposed to register ourselves in all Muncipal Corporations separately for which different rates of fees are charged by concern Munciple authorities.

I am surprised when i see architects , lawyers, Chartered accounts, medical practictioners, cost accountants , seek working  license / practicing license from their Institute on all india basis. So, it is easier for them to do work anywhere in india whereas we The Structural Engineers are make to obtained license from every muncipal Corporations.

Dont you think that it is somewhat injustice and hampering basic Constitutional right of equality.

Do you feel that my contention is right ?

If it is so, please try at higher level so that we  structural engineers need not pay visits to all muncipal Corporation to register at first instance and for renewal theirafter .

Kindly look into the matter and please guide me positively .

Thanking You.

Dear all,
As rightly said, it is indeed injustice. When you register for Civil Engineer in any Public work divisonal office in maharashtra and if you want to quote your offer for tender belonging to any other public divisonal office then you can fill that tender, provided tender is open to all. In nutshell, in Maharashtra you can atleast participate in some tender activity even if you are not belonging to that particular public divison work.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra goverment has already started online process for registration of Structural Engineer to any choosen municipal council. Use this link to get more:
mahavastu.maharashtra.gov.in

In similar fashion, goverment of india can bring one online portal on which registration process can be completed. No goverment will take this issue seriously unless some of our senior members represents this issue of behalf of SEFI. We can ask them to make such portal which can offer registration process for each state. This is the least we can expect from goverment to run fair constructional activity.
Today itself, sad incident took place in Varanasi, collapse of ongoing bridge. To avoid all such future accidents goverment should provide platform which will recognize structural engineer for India or atleast for each state. (I guess, Recognition for Each state is least and last expectations from all of us)

Dear Friend,

This is highly objectionable, unattended injustice.

This shall be taken up with the Government.

This forum is the wright one to initiate action.

yes, I do agree with your views. It is because there is respective association who work for them. There is no such association of structural team. We have to come at one platform for such recognition.

Dear rk5566

I agree with your point of view that being a structural engineer if we register oursleves with this esteemed organisation SEFI then why should we go for further registration with respective Municipal Corporations despite being a member of All India registered Forum.

I Hope that this query will be strictly discussed with the veteran Structural Engineers of India for providing a better platform for Young Blood of this Country

Thanks
