Dear Er. Azeez

As only extreme fibers will be stressed to the maximum in bending(with zero stress at NA) the best section to resist bending is a castellated section; I.e. an I section with section removed at NA.

In the same way the best section to resist compression is the section which has more radius of gyration, Thus any hollow section will be good. See more at my book on Design of Steel structures, OUP, 2nd edition.

Best wishes
