Hello, i am building my first house and very confused about optimizing the ‘overkill’ stuctural design designed by a local civil engineer.
My contrator told that this design is overkill and only increase cost without benefit. I have attached the structural design images here:

Right now i am building Ground floor only, but in future i have plans for G+2 maximum (ground floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor)
My contractor asked to reduce column size, beam size, footing size and rod size (16 mm instead of 20mm), column footing of 9inches instead of 2 ft, and many more i didnt remember clearly. Please clarify everything i need to know, Thanks
