I see quite a lot of I sections being used as column in steel structures. However, according to my past experience there is considerable moment along minor axis. Thus, I mostly prefer double C sections as column and I sections in beam. Using double C section in field is more tedious than I sections due to fabrication works. I was looking for a way to use I sections in column with biaxial moments. Is there any way the moment of resistance along minor axis be increased. Any suggestions are most welcome.
