To my opinion,Structural audit of buildings having age more than 15 years is a mandate and General public should make it as a habit to avoid failures. Structural failures may happen due to Change in Use of buildings, which may be due to removal of some structural elements. To avoid such things, people should consult the Structural engineers for proper Professional guidance. Though, it is a little bit costly, but ensures 100% safety against failures.
