Conveniently does not talk of the nitty gritty of the detailing or load paths to make it successful. Also doesn't talk about any shake table tests performed. This presentation is ok to lead a novice down the garden path. Not for this forum.

Vipul, It is a general article - not one explaining the structural behaviour, so the nitty grittys are not expected.
My purpose in seeking comments was to know the viewpoint of  structural engineers towards precast buildings in terms of their seismic performance. With the world doing it for more than 40 years, does the Indian professional look at it with skepticism or is it Fine. With the technology now getting more & more prevalent in India, what nitty grittys does one need to take care of to give it a green light welcome

There are several nuances of precast technology from view point of ductile detailing. We just went through a project with this technology. However this was a building on base isolators & hence departures were not relevant. However in a fixed base buildings (i.e. without vibration control devices) there are no guidelines in Indian standards how to deal with these departures.
