Hello everyone,
I am Suraj.

I am trying to automate the reinforcement process in FreeCAD. I want to make the Reinforcement process easy for the structural engineers and also taking care of standards of Reinforcement. I want to follow the same approach that structure engineers follow for Reinforcement detailing.
I have the following plans to implement it:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-LI-x-t_5jZK5_fiVJILPo2FmERfGvCRvYkqi0fUPPk/edit?usp=sharing

Please check if I am following the right approach or not. More discussion can be found at:
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=35077

Please guide me regarding this here or at above mentioned link as you find useful.

Hope to have a great interaction. I will be waiting for your replies.

Regards,
Suraj

I want to know about layers in Beams and Columns.
- As layers are present in beams, is there any layering as in case of Columns also?
- In case of Spiral Reinforcement, is there any layering in Circular Column?

I don't think, here is any user of FreeCAD. Why you like to do this in FreeCAD?

Sounds great. We love to have such tools, but which can fit in our workflow.

The main reason behind this is that it is the first free and open source BIM software with CAD functionality. The power of FreeCAD can be found here:

I will be interested to know your workflow, so that it will be easier for structural engineers to create Reinforcement in FreeCAD.

Dear Mr Suraj,

I'd be glad to help in any open source project. I have not yet been able to review your linked discussion, but I'll get in touch with you soon.

Wow! Video is showcasing great feature. 3D solid modelling with BIM approach, Finite Element Analysis, 2D drawing generation, Generating Bill of Material (BoM) and a lot. Already has rebar module, which is placing rebad in slab, column or beam.

I column layers might be there.

In case of circular column, there won't be layers.

Got it. Thanks @hsrai for your active participation.

I made different types of 3D Column in FreeCAD and can be found at https://github.com/SurajDadral/FreeCAD-Examples

And images for the same are:
