On behalf of the entire SEFI team, it is my pleasure to congratulate Prof. Sudhir K. Jain on being elected as an International Member of the United States National Academy of Engineers.
This is indeed a recognition of several years of hard work and steadfast commitment towards the improvement of structural and earthquake engineering education, research and practice in our country.

I am very happy to note that Padma Shri Prof. Dr. Sudhir K. Jain FNAE has been elected as a member of the US National Academy of Engineering. Congratulations to him and wish him many more accolades. He is a doyen of Earthquake Engineering education, research and practice in India. His work at IITK and now as director of IITGN, with many innovative approaches to educational practice have been rightfully recognized by the USNAE. I feel he should have been elected much earlier.
