Dear Sefians,
I would like to request your opinion on how concrete delivery is controlled or monitored at site.

Say I have approx 40 columns, design concrete grade range from Grade 35, 45 and 60. These are specified in the detail drawings.
https://snaptube.cam/
How are the casting monitored and checked at site to ensure the correct concrete grade is poured to the correct column?

Looks like the possibility of accidentally casting wrong grade to wrong column is highly likely if concreting process is not checked or supervised.

Any idea or opinion would be highly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Designer is inexperienced & does not understand meaning of constructability
Ask him to redefine & specify only one grade
Let him understand world first

Yes , I agree with the com.ents by Suraj saheb. The designer is definitely novice , but senior designer checking and approving design/drg must throw his experience to guide.

Three types of conc mixes ,will create problems at site during concreting .  Better seek to  review the design drgs from str consultant with one mix for columns.

Dear Engineer Sunate,

It is not a general case. M60 and M45 are not normal mix, these are highly reach mix. Its complete SOP/Method statement/ Methodology, are to be  prepared and approved and accordingly, work of concreting is to be commenced.

For all grade of concreting work ( even for all construction activity) have a predefined and approved construction( execution/commencement) Plan.

Since it is not right to plan at a time 3 grade of concrete better plan separately.

Though in construction field for a bigger project it is very common, RMC of different grades  may come to one site .

For example in a day program 10 footing raft are to be cast with M25 and other 10 footings' base PCC is to be cast with M10 and other 5 footings are to be filled at required level by plum concrete , say of M15 with PLUM.

Here its quite possible that 3 types of concrete is coming to your site by transit mixers.

And it is very simple to manage such problem by better Methodology/SOP.

Each transit Mixer has a RMC slip with it and it specified that what type of MIx it has.. whether M25 or M10,
And by this way that transit truck can be taken for its recommended place of pouring.
Even this slip (card) also have the record that it is for which structure with codifications.

Regards
S S Pawar
