Hello SEFI'ans. There is a huge gap in terms of knowledge transfer from the experts of the field in Structural Engineering to the young engineers who have either freshly graduated or have minimal experience. Also when it comes to emerging technologies like Post Tensioning and Pre Cast the gap is even wider. In view of the above I would like to request the Experts and Senior Engineers here to think of some training modules in SEFI so that this gap may be greatly reduced. Of course the courses offered will be of high quality and will certainly demand a premium as a lot of time and energy has to be put into it. It would be very much helpful if young engineers like us have expert level guidance and training which is lacking in our field. Others can share their thoughts as well.
Thanks

Training is essential not only for budding structural engineers  but also for veterans as this structural field is very vast , and one finds oneself always a learner.

Yes , it is a luck that a fresh engineer finds mentor  having in depth structural knowledge  and experience  / good consultancy firm , but one must have deep rooted interest in the profession which is  highly demanding in terms of responsibility .

I think on this forum experts always there to help without any aspiration.  But learning , as stated above , is a continuous process mostly achieved while working on design drgs of various structures in  consultancy environment.

Best wishes
