Dear All,
Is there any clause/notes of Post Tension saying need to assign column stiffness to 100% for outer most column and 50% for internal column?? |

This viewpoint is in no way answer to querry but some reference.
In manual design era , Portal Method was used to distribute horizontal forces (EQ/wind) , and in this method stiffness of outer column is taken as 50% of its actual stiffness and for inner column it is taken 100% of its stiffness . Horizontal forces were distributed accordingly.
Idea was that inner column is more stiff as it is having monolithic beams on either side in direction of EQ , whereas outer column is having beam only on one side.
cognizance of above fact can be taken or not is designer's judgement. |
