Dear All,

I have prepared one Macro to calculate the KZ parameter for a Moment Resisting Sway Frame. Currently the Macro is developed for Eurocode, National Annex - Netherlands.

I have attached a validated file (Please download from given Link). Request you all to kindly provide a feedback/suggestions about further scope to improve the same.

A detailed video can be found at below link.
To skip the introductory part and to jump directly to working start the Video from 18th Minute onward.

Hi

i have noticed that the xls sheet is protected, well if someone wants to post a help to users, in my opinion it should be without strings attached,  otherwise it is just advertising self nothing else.

i have observed that 90% of the xls sheets posted in the form are specific to a person or organization, it may or may not be useful to others in the given as is condition.so if an xls sheet is password protected, it is almost USLESS to 80% of the users outside the organization.

before saying it is hard work that cannot be given, then there are 2 options 1. DONT GIVE, or understand that there are MILLIONS of OPEN SOURCE programs available  in the web, 2. CHARGE for your services which is fair enough.

Unfortunately, we Indians do no not understand the value of community contributions, we are the highest downloaders and minimum contributors to the open source community.80% of the pirated staad users are from Indian sub continent, any software we want to use first people check for cracked version, However when our client skip the last 20% of payment (invariably 80% of the clients do) we curse him80:20 rule applies everywhere

Dear Admin,

I am not a regular visitor atthis platform.

Being an irregular visitor on thisplatform, it is quite possible that, inadvertently, through my Post, I mighthave violated some/many of the platform guide lines or rules. I want you to kindlylet me know what part of my post is a violation of rules. It is my request Adminto delete this post with immediate effect in the event any violation from myside is observed. Also, will refrain from Posting such posts in future.

I want to bring to Admin's noticethat,

  • I am not running any organization or I am not part of any software development company related to civil engineering services.

  • My intention behind this Post is to invite suggestions to make macros more & more user friendly and efficient so that the “interested viewers/users” can use the same in their day to day activities. I am not sure if this considered as “Advertising Self” and is against the SEFI guideline. Admin to take appropriate action.

  • Tomorrow people will say, writing hundreds and thousands of Posts is also “Advertising self”. What to do? I can’t hold hand on to everyone’s the mouth. Relax & simply ignore is the only way I deal.

  • Whether to charge or not to charge is completely my prerogative. (Do not need unsolicited advises from any one)

  • Whether to share Password or not to share, with whom to share, is completely my prerogative (As for as it is not required for generation of the output from the program). Is it a mandatory requirement of the SEFI community?

If any of the above bullets is found to be aviolation of any of the SEFI Guideline, Please delete this Post from immediate effect.

Dear Viewers,

If this Post Stays alive (Passes through the screening of Admin),

Please note..

  • I have just now checked the .XLXM file available on download link.

  • The file has no Password set for its use. (Not sure/aware about why few people are being asked for password by the Macro.) They can send their downloaded files to civilmacrosmadeeasy@gmail.com, so that I shall have a look.

  • The “KZ parameter” is not a function of any password as far as the attached Macro is concerned. The only inputs required are member properties, Lengths & end conditions etc.

  • Yes, The VBA code is the only protected part. (The password of the same doesn’t restrict user to get the output from this Macro.)

  • There are nice ways to ask for passwords & help regards to Macro, It is a gentle request to viewers to exercise those.

  • Those who are interested in knowing further insights about the macro, please ping me @ civilmacrosmadeeasy@gmail.com. No beating around the bush please.

  • Its kind request to keep your suggestions/comments limited to the engineering/knowledge development aspect of the Macro.

  • For Unsolicited advises, suggestions regard to Ethics & Morals of Indian Community, comments full of Boldness, please feel free to send those @ send.to.garbagecan@gmail.com.

  • If anyone is of the opinion, “there are MILLIONS of OPEN SOURCE programs available in the web”, why comment & waste time here? Ignore this Post, use those open source programs and move on. No one is holding any one at Gun-Point to use this Macro. Not necessary to comment on every Post.
Hereafter, I shall only be replying to comments pertaining to engineering/knowledge development aspect. Don’t want to engage myself in endless, unfruitful, (-)vely charged Posts.
