This topic I am raising concerns Engineering (Structure and rest of all domains) for cities' infrastructure.

In Bharat we experience that our cities infrastructure have large scope for improvement. There are flaws because of design, execution and lack of vision and imagination. This causes distress in day to day life of people and is big hindrance in development of people and nation.

From time to time there are reports in media and other forums about poor drainage leading to water logging, improper roads, substandard buildings leading to various hazards. But then these reports lack steps for improvement because Engineering investigation is missing and these matters then get mixed up with politics and eventually never receive the proper treatment which would have led to remedy.

Therefore I believe those Engineers in fraternity who have knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering at large and it's impact on development of cities to villages shall come together and start with assessment of our city infrastructure on various parameters. There will be a report generated on periodic basis and it will be made public so that people and administration can understand the cause of problem and also best practices and from there corrective actions can be taken for a state of art built environment in future.
