Dear All,

            I had some general doubts on flat slab design.

1. How to validate the torsional moments from the flat slab edge strip transfered to edge beam in softwares like STAAD PRO? any manual calculation to verify the forces?

2. Moment concentration at the column/drop junction is very high compare to moment at the COLUMN FACE+500mm. Almost the difference range between 25 to 40% more. Its really difficult or uneconomial to provide reinforcement because of huge peak moment at the column junction for distance of 500 or 600mm. I want to know how to extract or take optimal moment without compramising on codal requirement on safer side.
