Dear Mukesh,
Sorry for such a delay in replying to your email. You are absolutely correct about providing horizontal restraint, which I had forgotten to provide in my earlier examples. Although after posting the examples, I had realized my mistake, and had started on correcting the same in all my examples & charts, but due to my very busy schedule I could not complete the excercise of correcting them.
Two points which I found in context while providing the horizontal restraints are
1) I tried for 2 values of horizontal contraint. One being Coeff of friction times the vertical restraint. The other case I tried was full restraint. And the results for both the cases were same.
2) the behaviour simulated is much closer to the pinned case rather than the hinged case, for both the values of horizontal restraint as pointed in point 1.
I hope to correct my examples & charts and post them again for everyones review.
Regards
Pankaj

Sorry for the typo in my earlier email. Point 2 should read as follows
2) the behaviour simulated is much closer to the pinned case rather than the fixed case, for both the values of horizontal restraint as pointed in point 1.
